ASSESSMENT CENTER

Group or individual assessment is a tool that enables the creation of conditions as close as possible to the real world in a simulation context, in order to check how the candidates would behave in a specific role and proving they have what it takes.

Sales Line develops Ad-Hoc Assessment projects for its clients, based on the skills the client company wants to evaluate.

The three skill areas on which to work on are:

  • cognitive area: e.g. skills in analysis, synthesis, strategic thinking, systemic thinking, innovation.
  • implementation area: e.g. skills in problem solving, implementation, planning, organization, etc
  • relationship area: e.g. skills in contributors management, team building, co-operation, networking, negotiation, etc

Which tools make up our Assessments?

In Tray or In Basket
It is an individual exercise used to take decisions concerning a series of problems found on the desktop, in the form of incoming mail. The candidate shall collate the received information, possibly find a connection between them and formulate an action plan in terms of importance and urgency.

Role play
It is usually an individual exercise where the candidate plays a role he/she has been assigned after a structured description, concerning a corporate situation where the relevant assessor is playing an antagonist role.

Simulation
It is usually a group exercise where roles may be defined or not; after reading a set of data and having been presented the context to be simulated, the participants find themselves discussing some corporate decisions to be taken and implemented.

Behavioural Event Interview
It is a structured interview focusing on a number of specific subjects, through which the assessor gathers information on how the candidate behaves when facing specific corporate situations, describing his/her actions and the achieved results in terms of success/failure. The tests are then corrected according to standardized criteria; subsequently, the assessor offers feedback to the candidate in terms of existing and consolidated skills and areas of improvement.
Assessment tests may be coupled with:

  • skill test, for more operative roles
  • personality test (BigFive – BFQ/2 – 16PF)
  • development and leadership test (EQ-I , GMA)
